Why choose Lincoln

Key Advantages for International Students

LUC combines international recognition, wide programme diversity, and some of the most affordable fees of any 5-Star rated university in Malaysia — making it a standout option for budget-conscious international students.

5-Star Ministry Rating + THE Impact Rankings

LUC holds a 5-Star rating from Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education (2017 & 2019) — the highest possible tier. It is also listed among the top 9 Malaysian universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings, giving its degrees strong international credibility.

Scholarships Up to 80%

LUC offers merit-based scholarships covering up to 80% of tuition fees for exceptional international students. With promo fees already among the most competitive in Malaysia, a scholarship can make LUC one of the most affordable quality universities in Southeast Asia.

One of Malaysia's Widest Programme Ranges

13 faculties covering Medicine (MD), Dentistry (DDS), Pharmacy, Nursing, Health Sciences, Engineering, AI & Computing, Business, Accounting, Social Sciences, Hospitality, Education, and Performing Arts. Foundation through PhD — all in one institution.

ODL (Online) Options Across Most Faculties

LUC operates a dedicated Centre of ODL with online programmes across Business, Computing, Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, and Social Sciences — making it one of the most ODL-capable universities in Malaysia. Ideal for working professionals studying from abroad.

Member of ACU, IAU & AIU

LUC is an associate member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) in London, the International Association of Universities (IAU) in Paris, and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) — ensuring its degrees are recognised across the Commonwealth, Europe, and India.

Flexible Payment & Instalment Plans

LUC actively offers instalment payment plans to make education accessible. Combined with promo fees and scholarships, students can plan their finances without the stress of large upfront payments — a significant advantage over many Malaysian private universities.

Frequently asked questions

Common Questions About Studying at Lincoln University College

What is the minimum English requirement to enter LUC?+
LUC generally requires IELTS 5.5 for undergraduate programmes and IELTS 6.0 for postgraduate. Medical and dentistry programmes may require higher scores. Students who completed their prior education in English-medium institutions may be eligible for an exemption. Contact us and we will confirm the exact requirement for your chosen programme.
Can I work part-time while studying at LUC?+
Yes. International students in Malaysia can work up to 20 hours per week during semester breaks and public holidays, and in approved on-campus or hospitality roles during term time. Always confirm current immigration rules before accepting any employment.
How do the promo fees and scholarships work?+
LUC publishes two fee tiers — the Regular Fee and a lower Promo Fee. The promo fee is the discounted rate currently available to qualifying international students. On top of that, LUC offers merit-based scholarships of up to 80% of tuition fees for students with outstanding academic results. Contact us and we will assess your eligibility for both the promo rate and a scholarship simultaneously.
What is the EMGS fee and how is it different from LUC's registration fee?+
EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services) is the government agency that processes all international student visa applications. The EMGS fee (~RM 3,500) goes directly to EMGS — not LUC — and covers your Visa Approval Letter, student pass, and insurance. LUC's registration fee (~RM 2,000) is a separate university administrative charge. Both are paid upfront before you arrive in Malaysia.
Is LUC's degree internationally recognised?+
Yes. LUC is fully MQA-accredited and holds a 5-Star rating from Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education. It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (London), the International Association of Universities (Paris), and the Association of Indian Universities. LUC is listed among the top 9 Malaysian universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. Its degrees are recognised across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, India, Commonwealth countries, and Europe.
How long does the student visa take?+
The EMGS process typically takes 4–8 weeks after LUC submits your application. You must receive your Visa Approval Letter (VAL) before travelling to Malaysia — you cannot convert a tourist visa to a student pass. We track your EMGS status and notify you as soon as your VAL is ready.
